Justin ‘LappyPoker’ Lapka prevailed over 1,125 entrants to win the 2021 World Series of Poker Online $400 buy-in no-limit hold’em eight-max event. This earned Lapka the top prize of $75,371, the largest tournament prize of his career, and his first WSOP gold bracelet. A large number of entrants in this tournament meant that players finishing in the top 167 earned big money.
A number of prominent players took home cash from this tournament, such as Tony ‘Panoramic’ Dunst, a World Poker Tour champion and two-time bracelet winner who finished in 32nd place for $1,782. Another two-time bracelet winner, Anthony ‘heheh’ Zinno, finished in 40th place earning $1,539.
When the final table of the tournament started, Lapka was actually near the bottom of the leaderboard. ‘Beratna’ had the chip lead, and Chance ‘BingShui’ Kornuth was in second place. Two players were soon eliminated, bringing the field down to seven. Lapka then eliminated Troy Lee, who finished in sixth place for $12,363. However, Lapka would not hold the chip lead until play was down to Dauti and him. Then, Lapka and Dauti proceeded to play the final hand, which Lapka won with a full house. Dauti placed second, earning $46,575.
