The famed PokerStars Championship of Online Poker (COOP) is coming to three states this September, with countless players soon fighting for the chance at COOP fame and prizes. New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania will have the opportunity to compete in state-specific events.
Every one of the three states will feature its own COOP event on their state-facing website running from Sep. 10th to the 27th. This will run at the same time as the international competition runs on the PokerStars international website.
For the PokerStars COOP event in Pennsylvania and Michigan, this will be the largest COOP prize pool in the state’s history.
In the COOP Pennsylvania event, there will be a $2 million guarantee running between the 69 scheduled events taking place on PokerStars, PA. The PA COOP main event will take place over two days from Sept. 26th to the 27th with a guarantee of $200,000. The buy-in for the event will be $300, and if it goes anything like the last time the COOP came to Pennsylvania, the prize pool may go well past this mark.
Earlier this year, in May, the main event of the Pennsylvania Spring Championship of Online Poker ended up building a total prize pool of $284,200 with a grand prize of $46,410.
In Michigan, the COOP will offer 68 different events and a combined total of $1.5 million in guarantees between them. This will be the second time that the new PokerStars MI website has hosted the event.
The $300 main event will feature a guarantee of $150,000 and run from Sept. 26th to 27th. The main event that took place in the spring Championship earlier this year amassed a $243,880 prize pool blowing that guarantee out of the water, so there is some serious hope it will do just that again this time.
New Jersey players have had a lot of experience with this series and will have another 60 events to enjoy on PokerStars, NJ. This event will reach a combined total of $1 million in guarantees with a $100,000 guarantee for the $300 buy-in main event.
Every championship of the online poker series will also be awarding seven trophies throughout the events, with one for each main event. This means that 21 lucky winners will be walking home with one of these.
There will be satellite qualifiers leading up to each tournament throughout the series and buy-ins for the event starting as low as $10, so there are events accessible to anyone. Tickets for the Main Events are being offered through $3 Spin & Go’s that will run right up to the start of the event on Sept. 26th.
There will be other ways to earn Main Event tickets as well. Also, if any player is eliminated short of the money bubble in a COOP event, they will receive an entry to a Second Chance Freeroll with the opportunity to win $5,000 in COOP tickets in their respective state series. With the enormous prizes and all the opportunities to win, this is sure to be a historic series.
